Summer Fun!

It's been busy around here the last month...trips to Cedar Point, Kings Island, Soak City, Rolf Waterpark, our neighborhood pool, friends pools, new playgrounds, three rounds of fireworks and this week, Safety City. See? BUSY! Rather than recap ALL that, let's just say it's been a very busy, but very fun summer so far and we have lots of fun still ahead of us.

Both of the girls are really enjoying the pool this year. Aundrea has always been a fish, but it's taken until recently for Kaitlyn to learn how much she likes the water too. And guess what? Kaitlyn can SWIM! Like, for real swim...feet kicking, arms paddling, not drowning swimming! She can almost make it from one side of the pool to the other so far. Pretty exciting stuff! Aundrea (AKA The Fish Child) can even do flips and handstands in the water. That girl is water-crazy! They both had a blast at Soak City and Rolf Waterpark this past weekend. We got to take them on (what I believe is) their first big waterslides...very fun! And they have cute little girl suntans too.  :o) 

Kaitlyn and Aundrea love playing outside too...anything from bike rides, blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk, riding the scooter or power wheels...you name it. What a relief too, because at the start of warmer weather, Kaitlyn was so scared of bugs that she didn't even want to play outside...so glad she's over that! Inside, their favorite activity is probably watching Spongebob on TV...ugh...ya win some, ya lose some. They are both still into dress up clothes and dump the dress up bin out DAILY...it's such a fun mess to pick up every day!   In the last few months they have both been WAY into wearing dresses ALL. THE. TIME. especially Kaitlyn. In fact, it's not uncommon for her to change her outfit 4-5 times a day...and leave ALL the clothes on her bedroom floor. While I am happy she can dress and undress herself on her own, I'm not at all happy about the mess she leaves! We're working on that one...

This week the girls are at Safety City at their school...very exciting stuff! This feels like the first step toward being a school kid. It's making me already think about school supply shopping, school clothes shopping, school shoes, packing lunches, homework, etc. Life is about to get even busier, I think. Here's hoping we can teach them to be independent with the school to-do's!
