It's hard to believe that Christmas is over already! This past week has been a whirlwind of gatherings! Wednesday evening Wayne and I had a little get together at our place to kick of Christmas weekend. It was mainly just friends, food, watching the kids play and playing some games...lots of fun! Kaitlyn had fun running around with her buddy Gavin, as usual. We tried getting a picture of them together by the Christmas tree, but you know how hard it is getting TWO two year olds to sit still for a photo op! Abigail (Gavin's little sister) wore Kaitlyn's old Santa outfit from her first Christmas...and oh my goodness was Abby cute in it! It amazed me that Kaitlyn was ever small enough to fit into that little outfit! After the kiddo went to bed (And thankfully she did without any trouble!) we played some fun games...Guesstures, Catch Phrase, etc. and had a blast. What a great way to start our busy holiday weekend!
Thursday we headed to church an hour and a half before the service actually started to make sure we got good seats! That was a bit rough, as the service was during Kaitlyn's nap time...so she didn't nap at all...fun times! Church was great, as usual...the music was awesome and they even had snow falling! And of course, Kaitlyn fell asleep in the car for about 15 minutes on the way to Grandma B's house...but she woke right up because Grandma kept pumping her full of cookies! We got to open our presents with that side of the family...we got lots of goodies...Kaitlyn got a cute polar bear and a tent and tunnel, I got some awesome scrapbook stuff and Wayne got an OSU Snuggie!! Ha ha! We also got to play Santa when we got home, which was really fun.
Christmas Day we relaxed and opened presents in the morning...Kaitlyn was excited to get downstairs because she remembered that Santa was supposed to come the night before. She didn't seem too enthused about her stocking because she saw that Daddy got some Reisen chocolates in his, so that's what her mind was set on! After we got her settled down from that fiasco, she opened a few of her presents herself, but then wanted to play with toys...so we kind of had to HELP her open quite a few more! Some of her favorite gifts were a little train set, Elmo tickle hands and more furniture for the dollhouse she got for her birthday. Daddy got a new OSU sweatshirt and weather station and I got an awesome massage pillow and Carrie Underwood CD...did I mention we got tickets to her concert in a few months?! YUP, I can't wait! Anyways, after presents we made breakfast burrito's and then prepared for our dinner at 5p. All of Wayne's family came over and we had a great time eating and playing more games! Kaitlyn made out with more presents, including a cute princess castle doll house!
Today we started the recovery process...a little clean up and a lot of relaxing! I did head out this morning to look for a few after-Christmas sales...no luck finding Kaitlyn a Christmas dress for next year though. This evening Wayne's Dad took everyone out to Mancy's steakhouse for dinner...that was yummy! And Sunday I think we're just going to relax around the house and recoup some more. My Dad and Marti are still in town and we haven't gotten to visit with them too much yet because of all the holiday hooplah, so hopefully we can rest and visit more tomorrow! Not to mention, we're all anxious to play with all of Kaitlyn's new toys! :o) Ok, CHRISTMAS PICTURES COMING IN AN ADDITIONAL POST! Enjoy!
