Parties & Santa!

What a FUN weekend! Yesterday was Kaitlyn's buddy Gavin's 2nd birthday party! She had a blast playing with all the kids there! As usual, it was mostly boys, so Kaitlyn layed low and quietly read books most of the time...but also enjoyed sneaking into Gavin's bedroom to jump on his big boy bed...and THAT folks, is why she's still in her crib! She did manage to throw a ball at Daddy and hit him square in the face...which was as funny as it could have been! Then Gavin 'tackled' Kaitlyn to give her a hug and Wayne promptly pulled him off and gave him "a good talkin' to" ha ha! I'm still in shock that our BABIES are two now...spit up, infant seats, baby swings and even diaper changes seem like they were so long ago! Now we're talking about letters, colors and shapes! Geesh!

Today we ventured out to get Kaitlyn's picture taken with Santa Claus...which was a THREE hour wait...they did, however, give us a ticket, so we ran a few errands, went home and then went back later...good thing because Kaitlyn did not nap today. But she was a gem once it was actually time to see Santa...she waited patiently in line for a few minutes, kept saying "Santa Santa!" and then pointed out the "can-nee canes" too! She walked right up to him and happily agreed to sit on his lap...Santa, however, made the mistake of giving her the candy cane BEFORE the picture, so most of the pictures she is looking at her candy cane instead of the camera! I told her to look at the reindeer (meaning the one the photographer was holding) so she looked back over Santa's shoulder at the 'real-ish' reindeer in the display! Ha! I'm happy our visit with Santa went well though...you never know how a two year old is going to react to some fat stranger with an itchy beard decked out in red!
