What a fun weekend it was! Here's the re-cap:
Thursday~ Set up for garage sale, price items, organize, keep tabs on THREE kids...we were already tired and the sale hadn't even begun!
Friday~ Garage sale, Day 1, we sold quite a few items. Plus, two trips to the grocery store, keep tabs on three kids, clean house for upcoming birthday party, Grandma M arrived, make birthday cake, close up garage sale just in time for said birthday party to begin, stay up late, kids stay up late...completely exhausted now!
Saturday~ Garage sale, Day 2, much slower. Sold a few items, went garage sale-ing for an hour, begin clean up from birthday party, begin clean up from garage sale, have family over for BBQ ribs, go to Cherry Festival in Whitehouse, let Kaitlyn experience fireworks for the very first time, stay up late again...yup, at this point I needed to sleep for about 12 hours to catch up...but of course that didn't happen!
Sunday~ Church, shopping with Grandma M, continue party clean up, continue garage sale clean up, church again, ice cream with friends, home a little earlier, but still a late night for Kaitlyn...thinking we need to take Monday off to recover from our weekend!
So, that's the short version of our fabulous weekend! It was packed but very fun! Kaitlyn had so much fun playing with her buddy Gavin, who was here most the day Thursday & Friday...they played together pretty well and even communicated WITH each other now. They'd race up the ladder on the swingset and Kaitlyn would say "Gavin, push me down the slide!" and so he would...so cute! Unfortunately, we were so busy with the garage sale that I didn't get to take any pictures of them playing!
I had a wonderful 30th (*shutter* ugh) birthday too. Wayne invited a bunch of our friends and family over for a cookout. He even made me a cake and instead of putting "30" on it, he put "29+1" which was much appreciated! ;o) I even got some goodies too...gift cards to Victoria Secret, Target, JCPenny and Applebee's! Thanks for a wonderful birthday hubby!
In other news, I'm sure you've all heard by now about the tornado's that ripped through our area last week. Thankfully we and all our close friends and family are ok, but it seems like everyone we talk to at least knows someone affected by the storms. That was some scarey stuff and even more so now that we have a little one. We pulled Kaitlyn out of bed twice when the tornado sirens went off and headed to the basement. She knew something wasn't right too...she seemed a little scared the first time, but she fell back asleep the second time. Since that big storm, we've had a couple smaller ones go through and she always talks about the "funder" (thunder) and tells me "sometimes we go in da basement when it funders" because that's what I kept telling her when we were down there. So she definitely remembers.
