A Week of Fun with Kaitlyn's Buddy!

A week flew by already?! We had a very fun week! Our Memorial weekend was especially action packed...Saturday we met some friends at a park for a yummy cookout and then we went rafting down the Maumee River...on air matresses! We even took Kaitlyn with us...all bundled up in her life jacket. It actually worked out pretty well because by the time we ate and played at the park, she was exhausted so she fell asleep almost as soon as we hit the river. So she took her nap floating on an air matress, laying between Wayne and I! Sunday was pretty low key...just church, errands, working around the house, etc. Monday we went to the Sylvania Memorial Day parade again...I'm thinking this may be a yearly tradition. We joined Gavin and his family and another 'Mom friend' and her family as well. Kaitlyn was tired and snuggly at first, but once the parade started she seemed to enjoy it. She loved getting candy thrown at her from the parade and especially loved getting a little flag to wave around. As we were getting ready to leave, an older man with a cane walked by and Kaitlyn took the can right out of his hands! I freaked for a minute, but then realized that the man was very nice and open to Kaitlyn's inspection of the cane! Wayne stood nearby for fear of the guy falling over without his cane, but Kaitlyn gave it back pretty quickly...phew! So that was pretty funny!

Tuesday was another fun day. We met Gavin's family for dinner at El Camino for a birthday celebration...yummy! Of course, the kids were adorable eating their chocolate cake together. *See MANY cute pictures on my Shutterfly page!* After dinner we went to the batting cages and then go-karting. This was Kaitlyn's first time on go-karts and she loved it! She rode with Daddy first and then Mommy, each time saying "Go on dat car again!" This made me even more excited to take her to Cedar Point this year...she will LOVE it! And since Daddy got to take her on her first go-kart ride, Mommy gets to take her on her first rollar coaster!! Jr. Gemini, here we come!!

Yesterday we had another great day at the zoo! Kaitlyn and I had fun with Gavin's family again and a few other 'Mom friends' too! The zoo was crazy packed though...perhaps the last day of school field trips or something, but we still had a fun time. We love having a zoo membership...even if we go for just a couple hours, the kids have so much fun and it's so convenient to go! So, that was our fun week in a nut-shell! This morning we're going to another play date/cookout at a friends house and then tonight another get together with friends! Geesh, our social calendar has picked up considerably since having Kaitlyn! Ha! Don't forget to check out Shutterfly for lots of new cute pictures!
