Fall Fun!

Fall is here in full force and we love it! Ohio State football and fall festivals...what could be better, right?! So that's where we've been lately...outside enjoying fall festivals on the weekends. There is always something to do this time of year and we love it. Two weekends ago we went to Harrison Rally Days in Perrysburg. We joined Gavin and his Mommy there for the parade...this is where we taught them to "beg" for candy...but we made them use manners so they said "candy please, candy please" with out-stretched arms! We also tried some bouncy houses at this festival, which Kaitlyn wanted nothing to do with...she has never been a fan of them...yet!

This past weekend we attended the Roche de Bouffe Festival in Waterville...it also began with a parade, so the kids got to beg for even more candy! Seriously, this whole "have your kid beg for candy" thing is pretty cool! Ha ha! We will certainly see the benefit come Halloween! ;o) Anyways, they had a pretty neat kids area that included these pretty cool cars you pedal with your hands...Kaitlyn loved those! We even got her to warm up to one of the bouncy houses there...wahoo, a major breakthrough for our tentative, cautious little girl! After the festival we had a cookout at our house with lots of friends, food and fun. Tons of little ones came too, so it was fun to watch them all play together. We even got to play poker where I won...drumroll please...$50! Go me! ;o)

Sunday we had another action-packed day...a double birthday party for two of Kaitlyn's little friends. They rented a HUGE bouncy house with slide so Kaitlyn learned to like bouncy houses just in time! She literally bounced on it for about 3 hours, only stopping for food and cake at the party! I'm thrilled that she liked it...I knew she would think it's fun if she got used to it! She was smiling and giggling the whole time she was bouncing around! So much fun!

In Kaitlyn news...she has been a stinker about bedtime the last couple weeks. Bedtime NEVER EVER has been an issue...she's usually pretty cooperative about getting ready for bed and she's always gone to sleep pretty easily...until now...holy crap! First she wanted to sleep with us...to which I said HECK NO! Then we went through every excuse in the book...she was scared, hungry, had to potty, wanted the fan on, wanted the fan off, needed a drink, wanted Daddy, wanted a light on...you name it, she probably used it for an excuse. Then after I mentioned it, she keeps saying her bed is too small...which is where we stand now...we think she's outgrowing her toddler bed so we're shopping around for a full mattress set so we can convert her to the 'real' big girl bed soon. In the meantime though, she's been sleeping on her floor for almost every nap and overnight in the last two weeks...what a little weirdo. I wish I had confirmation that she will sleep in her new full size bed once we get it...because if she's not going to, we might as well save a lot of money and just buy her a sleeping bag! Anyways, those other mom's aren't kidding about the Terrible THREE'S...they are something else! Wow...all I can say is wow...whining, tantrums, screaming, tears...ten times worse than the two year old version! It's going to be a long year...it's a good thing she's so stinking cute! ;o) Oh and we're getting our pictures taken this weekend! I can't wait!
