Geesh, I've really been awful about keeping up this blog, haven't I?! Here's a quick catch-up. My baby is going to preschool in the fall! The last month or so we've visited 3 preschools in our area and somewhat easily decided on one...Monclova Christian Preschool. Of the 3 we visited, 2 of them are very hard to get into...as in, most people get put on a waiting list. Who would've thought it'd be so hard to get a THREE year old in for preschool?! But apparently it is. At any rate, we got the call earlier in the week that she is IN and officially has a spot for fall. So that's pretty exciting!! She'll only go 2 days a week for 2.5 hours each time, but I think she'll love it. Then the following year she'll go 3 days a week. And then the year after that she'll be in kindergarden! Gah! Mommy is SO NOT ready for that!
Kaitlyn is STILL talking about going to Cedar Point this summer...she's been talking about it for a month now! So every day we talk about how it doesn't open until May and then she says "So we can go in May or June or July or August or September or October...and October is when Halloween is!" Now that she knows the days of the week and the months I feel like she's starting to get a better concept of time. We're also gearing up for a trip to Florida next week (YAY!!!) so we've been talking a lot about how far away it is (we're driving). She keeps asking if Cedar Point is farther away then Florida and we tell her Florida is the farthest away of anywhere that we've gone...so she says "Florida is way way way way way way way far away?" HOPEFULLY she'll do fine in the very long car ride.
In other Kaitlyn news, we've been doing a lot of cutting with scissors lately. She doesn't always pick them up and hold them the right way, but once I show her the correct way to hold them, she does pretty well. I draw 5 or 6 lines on a piece of paper, she cuts along the line and then we tape the strips of paper together to make a paper chain...which is getting pretty long now. She follows the line pretty well, but it's not smooth...it's kind of jagity (is that a word?). She still does very well with drawing...last night she drew her best yet stick person and the other day she drew me a very good cupcake too. She's been writing her name for several months now, but her K and A still need a little work. We also celebrated a hair milestone this week...her very first twist braid! Hair is a big deal around here because it took her so long to get any! :o)
So there's the update...I will try my best to blog about our Florida trip after we return.
