Imagination Station!

Wow...it's been a while since I've posted here! Sorry about that...I know you are all dying to know what goes on in my fairly boring life! Ha! Well yesterday our Mom's Group took all the kiddo's to Imagination Station downtown. It's in the old COSI building...still very much geared towards sciencey things, but they have an excellent preschoolers area too! In fact, Imagination Station is so cool, that our Mom's Group allowed Daddy's to come too! So that was fun...it was like a family day trip plus a lot of friends! Anyways, they have lots of pretend grown up things for the kids to play with...a little grocery store, fire truck, hospital, house with kitchen, etc...they also had lots of cool water tables and a sand & water table. And they had a tree house with a tunnel and slide going through it. Very cool stuff! Kaitlyn loved the slide, of course...and she really liked playing doctor to the babies in the hospital...since she has a doctor kit at home, she knew just what to do with the stethoscope, thermometer, etc. She even covered up the little baby in the incubator with a blanket...so cute! Perhaps medical school is in her future?? She better find a rich boy to marry first! Ha! Anyways, it was a very neato place and I'm sure we'll be back! At the end of the day yesterday I asked her what her favorite part about the trip was...and do you know what that stinker told me?? She says "Snack cup"! Doh! I guess snacks always win out! Ha ha!
Kaitlyn playing doctor to the babies in the hospital!
Jumping on the giant piano to get the keys to play music!
Kaitlyn & Daddy checking out at the grocery store...her buddy Mason is ringing up their order!
Time to cook lunch in the play house!
Driving the fire truck! She kept honking the horn and sounding the sirens!

We haven't been up to too much else lately. Our new years resolutions are still going well. Kaitlyn is getting too smart for our own good! I can't believe how many things two year olds know! She's doing great with recognizing letters now and even knows a handful of the sounds that each letter makes...B, D, F, H, K, M, O, P, S, T...at least she normally gets those ones right...that's pretty stinking amazing to me! Ha! She also tries to actually color things now...as in, she TRIES to color an object on paper in the lines...she definitely doesn't stay in the lines, but at least she knows that's the object of the game now I think! She's starting to talk in more complete sentences now too...she used to say "Up peez Mommy"...but now it's more like "Mommy, pick me up peeez". So it's cool to see the progression from a year ago, saying like 10 words or something, 'til now speaking in sentences! Something else we've been trying lately are pigtails in her hair! Even since having it trimmed we can still get some tiny pigtails to stay, so that's pretty fun...I have waited for that for a very long time! Ha ha! Come to think of it...she hasn't gotten mistaken for a 'cute little boy' in quite some time! WOOT!
