Our little baby is two years old today! We had a great day celebrating her birthday! First we went to Gavin's house to play, which is always a good time. Kaitlyn also got to meet Gavin's little sister Abigail for the first time. She didn't seem bothered at all by me holding the little baby and she was pretty gentle with her...Kaitlyn even gave her a kiss on her little forehead! Then we were off to Build-A-Bear where Kaitlyn picked out a pink teddy bear to make...we stuffed it with fluff and love...then Kaitlyn got to pick out a heart to place in her bear...well, she REALLY liked that and kept going back for more hearts! So her teddy bear is special and has TWO hearts! Then we picked out a cute Happy Birthday shirt for her bear to wear...and completed the outfit with pink bows on it's ears!
Once Daddy got home from work it was time to open presents! She did pretty well ripping the paper off...except she got a little bored with that by the final present...so I'm anxious to see what happens at her birthday party when she'll have many more gifts to open! She loved playing with the doll house we got her...I was surprised to see that she knew just what to do! She was "pretend playing" very well...she'd take the "daddy" and make him walk up the stairs and take a bath...and she'd make the "baby" sit on the potty...it was too cute! We also played with her new aquadoodle, which she really likes too...she's doing pretty good with drawling straight lines and circles!
Grandma M. is coming to visit tomorrow!! She'll be here for Thanksgiving and Kaitlyn's birthday party...it's going to be a very fun and busy weekend! We're hosting Thanksgiving at our house...then Friday, Wayne and I are hitting the stores early and then we have a little date that night...we are going to see The Toledo Symphony!! Then we have tons of food to get ready for Kaitlyn's birthday party on Saturday! Yup, we're going to be exhausted by Sunday for sure!
Lately I've been reminiscing about how much Kaitlyn has grown and learned these last two years...so I looked back at my blog posts from a year ago to see what she was learning back then...so I think I'll give a little Kaitlyn update here so I can look back at it next year when she's turning three! So...in Kaitlyn news...she is a little ball of energy! She loves 'rough housing' with Daddy...he chases her and she bounces up onto the couch and then falls back off into his arms to get tickled some more! She loves giving hugs and kisses...and she'll get right up in your face to make sure you're paying attention to her. She's really talking a bunch...using three word sentences very regularily and working on four words...and she's very into singing songs...we can start singing and she'll finish the song for us. Her memory also amazes us...remembering kids' names that she's played with, remembering what day we go to church on, what toy is at who's house, etc. She loves reading books to her stuffed animals...and is crazy about Elmo and Abby Cadabby! She does pretty well going potty now, but still has the occasional accident. She loves coloring and is starting to play on her own for a while now too. Obviously, we think she's the cutest, smartest, most perfect little girl ever...not that we're biased or anything! ;o)

This is so cute Lori! It sounds like she had a wonderful birthday yesterday! You should totally print these so that she can read them when she gets older. You have a busy weekend planned! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, enjoy Kaitlyn's party, have a Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy your mother's visit!
