Busy Busy Weekend!

Phew, what a crazy weekend! Well, Friday was fine...we didn't do much but relax around the house. Saturday morning we rushed to get Kaitlyn fed so we could get out the door in a hurry...we stopped over at our friend Marcia's (our realtor) house to show off the baby...Wayne installed a new door for her. Then Kaitlyn and I were off to our Mom's Luncheon with some girls at my work...OMG, there were 14 of us that all met at Cafe Marie's...well, 7 Mommy's and 7 babies...but still! It was total chaos...we drew so much attention, you could just see people roll their eyes when they walked into the restaurant and saw us...as if to say "Oh, there are going to be a bunch of crying babies in here!" But, all the babies were great! The bad part was that our luncheon was scheduled at the same time Kaitlyn takes her morning nap, and of course she wouldn't sleep through all the action at the restaurant, so by the time we left, she was exhausted! By the time we got home it was time to eat, so I had to wake her up to eat and then it was off to dreamy land for her again! And Mommy was feeling icky by the time we got home too...some kind of head cold/sinus thing! BLAH! The rest of Saturday was normal (thank goodness) and then everyone headed over for Saturday night poker. Kaitlyn was so sleepy that she went to bed a little before 10pm...in time for me to play the first game (wahoo!), but then she woke up crying part way through that, so I had to go rock her back to sleep...little booger didn't want to miss out on poker night! But, then she was finally out for the count again around 11pm, so just an hour later than normal...phew! Sunday we woke up and I was still feeling blah! Wayne's Mom and stepdad came over for a visit in the afternoon (during Kaitlyn's nap time...again...so we missed another nap this weekend!) and we had a nice chat. We had to push Kaitlyn's pics back since they stopped by...we tried to squeeze in a short nap before the pics, but you know how that goes...when you want them to sleep, they don't want to! I had Wayne try to figure out how to move the straps on Kaitlyn's carseat b/c she is just getting so big! She can't wear her snowsuit in the carseat anymore b/c it's so tight! So, we had a huge fiasco with the carseat straps...geesh, they don't make those things easy to adjust, do they? He finally gets it figured out and I get Kaitlyn up and ready to go...so, here we go off to pictures with a tired baby and rushed parents...we just knew it wasn't going to be good! We get there and had to wait for the girl to finish up w/some other people (we were late so she took them since we weren't there yet)...so, now we're rushed with a tired baby and waiting to take pics! I totally knew she was going to be getting hungry by the time we actually got to the picture taking part! So, the girl is finally ready for us and Kaitlyn was just not having any part of her! The girl was young and seemed inexperienced and she didn't know how to get babies to warm up to her...she just jumped right in to making weird faces and Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn did not like that at all! The poor baby was totally scared of this photo girl! Ha ha! I felt so bad for the both of them! Any who...we only got about 2 good shots and decided to call it a day...Kaitlyn was so tired and now hungry and it totally wasn't worth it for a few pictures! So, there were only 2 good poses to pick from, so at least it was easy to decide which print to order! Kaitlyn slept as soon as we put her in the carseat and then slept through us taking her out of it when we got home! She totally slept past her feeding time, I didn't even bother waking her b/c she was so pooped! By the time she woke up she was starving, which of course means chowing down as fast as she can on her bottle...which also equals lots and lots of spit up soon after eating! So, it was a messy evening and now we have lots of laundry to catch up on! Ha ha! All in all, a good weekend, but I wish we had a few more days to catch up from the weekend chaos! :o) Hopefully this week will go smooth and on schedule b/c we're all tired I think! Zzzzz....!
