What a fun summer weekend it's been! Yesterday morning we got to meet Kourtney Barham for the first time and she is quite the little princess! I think she's about 9 days old and she was oooh sooo tiny! It's so hard to remember when Kaitlyn was little like that! Kaitlyn didn't seem too interested in the baby at first...she was busy playing with Christian, who is just a few months younger than her. But later Kaitlyn gave Kourtney a kiss on the forehead...so sweet!
We spent the rest of the day at White Star Beach, near Gibsonburg...it was really nice! There was a nice picnic area and playground there, plus a corey to go swimming in and it was really clean. It even had a sandy beach to lay on! Kaitlyn had a blast in the water and she even put her face down in it a few times. One time she stayed down so long that Mommy freaked and pulled her back up, but she was just fine! Yikes! She also isn't afraid to get dirty...she kept laying on her belly in the sand...looking really closely at it, like she was inspecting it or something! Kaitlyn only napped for 15 minutes before the beach though, so she was exhausted...she went to bed around 8pm and was still sleeping this morning at 8:15am, but then the dogs barked and woke her up...I bet she would have slept 'til 9am! Darn dogs!
After church this morning, we went to a park in Grand Rapids for a picnic lunch with Kelly & Micah. We did a "throw together lunch" where we gave ourselves like 15 minutes to pull together enough food to eat, plus picnic supplies, change clothes, etc...that was kind of fun! We didn't spend a dollar! For pulling it together in a rush like that, we did pretty well...we had plenty to eat and didn't forget anything except plates! So we ate on tin foil! Ha ha! Kaitlyn thought that was a little weird, but it worked! Then we played catch with a football, threw frisbee's, played bocce, etc...just a fun picnic-ey day!
